I am new to wordpress. I am putting together a web site initially as an exercise to learn the process. I have three pages for the site, and can move between them readily. I have tried to add a blog as the fourth page. this appears to happen, but when I try to access page 4 (blog) it returns a 404 error response. have done all the usual things, removed and re-nstalled, removed page 3 and put the blog page there, but the effect is the same. The W/P 'support' is too complex to work through so I am hoping someone will tell me where I have gone wrong. The only apparent difference lies in the title because if I try to add page 4 as a standard web page it all works fine. Thanks for any help.
Is the 4th page linked to correctly? Where is your blog installed? Make sure it's linked to your blog directory. (eg. www.myurl.com/blog/)
Pages and posts are two different things. Adding a blog to a blog? You will probably get better help if you more clearly define what you are asking.
Shall I start again? I have three W/P Static pages - numbered 1,2 3. They were added using the Add Page facility, and function as intended. I have also added a fourth page, using the Add a Page facility (how else?) and titled this page BLOG. It is not a Static Page. In theory this should appear as page four since the page was added in the same way as the previous three, except that the Static addition was not implemented. Page four is not displayed, but a page showing 404 Not Found appears. The web site is hosted by One.com In answer to the earlier responses. I did use the Add Page link I do know that posts and pages are different, and didnt mention posts I dont know if the page is linked corectly, but I followed the procedure I used for the previous pages. Hope this makes things clearer, and thanks for the comments to date.
