AddHandler application/x-httpd-php5 .php

I have this in my .htaccess

AddHandler application/x-httpd-php5 .php

I remember it was something hostgator added a long time ago to get something to work. Now I have to take it away to get something else work.

What is that line doing? I cant remember.

 

It causes any .php files in that directory to be executed as PHP5 code.
