Hi, I just added a new website into my Adsense account. There already was another website in this adsense account that is almost 1 year old and has been consistently averaging $5 - $10 per day. When I added the new website, I set it up as another channel in the account. Almost instantly, my revenue for the old website dropped. It went all the way down to $1 - $2/per day. It has stayed at about this level for about a week now. Why did this happen. The new website has virtually no traffic (1-2 visitors/day). The old site still is getting the same # of visitors per day (70 - 100). Why did my revenue go down? What can I do to fix it? Will I this happen to me every time I add a new website? If so, how long does it last and how can I mitigate the issue? I've looked throughout DP and couldn't find an answer. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Adding adsense in additional sites of yours will not affect your earnings. Are you getting the same traffic for your old site?
This is happening to me as well. I'm finding an influx of MFA sites advertising. Here's what happens, Google tries to minimize money spent by AdWords users to benefit AdWords users. As a result, when a ton of new low paying ads appear on your site, the top paying ads can drop their PPC so it is just set above the competion, so all earnings drop. What you need to do it use the Google AdSense preview tool, or check the AdSense ads link source (Do not click the ads), and find the URL after "adurl=". Follow the urls and see if they are MFA sites. The easiest way to tell is if they have a lot of "large text", often in bold and in red, selling "a once in a lifetime" type of product. You know, the big "sales pitch". Then filter those ads out using the competitor ad filter in your adsense account. Then earnings should begin to rise again in a day or two. NOTE: Be sure to check your highest traffic pages first, because you can only filter 200 ads.
Thank you. I will try that. I guess the part that I still don't understand is why Google would modify their algorithm for all the other websites in an account, if only 1 website is new. I will let you know what happens with you recommendation in the next day or two.
could be just coincidence. since you dont have any traffic to the new site, therefore it should not impact your old site earning
That is my hope. I sure would hate to have to take a hit everytime I add a new website to my Google Adsense account.
