I have added adsnse to my site (www.boredgames.co.uk) do you think they are in the write place and if not will you please tell me only had them on for about a day so just wondering where I should move them if Im going to.
I don't see any above the fold. Why don't you try to put them under your navigation bar, that works well for me
Yeah I agree. The one you have there is fine, but you should definitely place some ads on the top half of the page. Right under the navigation is probably the best place you could put them.
You probably want to remove the sentence "Why not vist our sponsors click on the link" as Google might see this as breaking TOS. I know you don't mean click the google adds, but better be safe than be sorry.
Thanks done everything people have told me to so far put some on side and removed Why not vist our sponsors click on the link. Keep suggestions coming
You should take a look at how everything is being displayed on a Mac... in Firefox for Mac, things aren't lining up like I think they are supposed to, and the adsense on the right, looks like it is floating on top of the layout...doesn't quite look right.
You should use the adsense heat map provided by Google to determine the best ad placement for your site
The ads are in a reasonable place. However heatmaps have proven the ideal places as the top-left and on the left. Although this method would not be appropriate for a blog, blogs generally have the feed content on the left, the position you have now is suitable for a blog. Take a look at lidalicious.com and go to the gallery. Now this site is going through test, but the current ad positions are giving us 5% conversion the previous was giving 7% and this is what we want to aim at all time. The key factors were definitely in making the ads pretty and not masking them. Masking ads have lost their affect and visitors have developed a 'banner blindness', test out a red border on the ads, etc. Since your site is also a games site, you should test thumbnail size images next to the google ads. This will not be against the TOS of Google if you place a separator between the ads and the images.
I would have to say its a bit bulky looking. I would try putting some small lines inline with your text in the middle column. Subtle looks better than just "bam here it is".
It looks good as a page, but in my opinion the skyscraper ad requires too much effort to find; it's on the opposite side of the most eyecatching bit of the site (the blue logo)
