Hey guys. As you might now, I started a webmaster forum a while ago for the first thread click here for the second thread after 1 month of running click here Now I added the adsense share mod. Is this a good way to set my members satisfied? or is it a waste. Digital Point forums are also using it right... Currently the forum is at 6,200 posts and gets more than 30,000 pageviews a month ( according to analytics ) awstats is showing me 75,000 pageviews a month, very strange.. But to get back on topic: I changed the settings to 80% for the members. If someone will make a new post their ads will be showed 80% of the time. What do you think of this?
So if you are making money only this way then you will be earning 20% of the revenue to what you would have been earning. You will probably have an increase of moderation due to people posting just to get their post count up and also may post more rubbish just so that they can try and earn more and not for the contributing factor. Hope it all works out, but personally I feel that having rev share is not the best option, but would help to increase your forums activity considerably so it may work out in the end.
hmm yeah, you are right about that john. Luckily I have another admin and 2 moderators at the forum. Thanks for your input though, rep added
Try it and you'll found out if traffic increase enough to earn more than before(it is quite impossible to earn more now, when you get only 20%). But most of the rich people become rich because of something 'impossible) =) P.s.: I like the design of your forum, maybe I'll register and check if there is anything interesting on it.
Thanks bujes! I did not show ads before on the forum, so if I get 1 click, I already made more Hope to see you around
How much were you making before? If you were making alot, this is a bad decision. I have only made about 10 cents from DP and IMO its a wast of time for both me and Shawn. I think he should take the few pennies that everyone is making, make him self some good money, and put it back into the community rather than have everyone get a few pennies.
Its pretty good. I added revenue share to my forum months ago. Only trouble is, not many people are signing up to it. Eventhough there have been times when I have got $2-3 per click on it! It can be used as an incentive to join, but as of yet my current member base aren't taking advantage of the great offer You should be ok though as your forum is for techies, mine is for anyone
