Add URL vs. link exchange -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hello, What's more valuable to a newbie Using "add url" Or "Link exchange" Will "add url" count as a back link? Erik THANKS EVERYONE FOR YOUR QUICK AND HELPFULL RESPONSES Sorry if I was vague, I am trying to establish my travel web site. One thing I read again and again is that links to a site are votes for it. And the search engines like that. It also helps the search engine find your site and index it by following the link to your site. This is my rough understanding. My question is, in the quest for links to your site, which carries more weight Add URL (directories) Or Sites that ask to have reciprocal links
I presume you mean "Add Url" on directories etc? I'd say definitely go for the directory, as you'll get a one-way link and it's more likely to get your link on a well indexed. As an example, I received an email today requesting link exchange with one of my sites. The site offering exchange had 20 link pages, each with around 10-20 links and none of the pages were indexed on Google and the all had a PR of 0. Why on earth would I want to exchange links with them?
add url, i believe he means also doing a search on places to do a search "your keyword" + "add url" or you can find this tool at www.webconfs.com that will give you a variety. i've heard from a leader in link building that the "add url" searches aren't as valueable as finding sites that have great content and asking for a link yourself. its an uphill battle. but worth its wait in link gold. good luck
Don't do link-exchange with sites you don't trust. Otherwise it's not do this OR do that - do many things. It's the total that works, not doing only one thing.
I would be VERY wary of sites that advertise the fact that you can "Add link", "Add site", "Add URL", "Add URL", "Submit URL" etc. Surely these aren't genuine, authority sites?
Yes use both of them. Both of them will give you possible traffic. It will also improve your link popularity.
