Wow, don't know how I missed this thread. Okay, here are my 3 main tips for making money with Adsense: 1) Adsense is a means to making money from your site, but your site does not exist to make money from Adsense. 2) Adsense is a means to making money from your site, but your site does not exist to make money from Adsense. 3) Adsense is a means to making money from your site, but your site does not exist to make money from Adsense.
I disagree - a website is a vehicle for converting traffic into money. Adsense is one way of doing this.
I disagree. I made my website before I knew about Adsense. I had over 10 thou page views when I redesigned & added Adsense. Lots of people are still doing what the internet was like originally, sharing information, for free.
I agree with what you are saying but you fall into the category of being a monetizer. The majority of people who make real money with Adsense don't look to it as a way of making one website profitable. The world of internet marketing is built on the vision of a website as a means of converting traffic into money and Adsense is one way of facilitating this. It works best and you will earn the most when it is applied on this model.
It's because people are applying your "Money first" model that they flood boards like this freaking out when they aren't making millions after a week on Adsense. Give me a break.
blend the ad unit with the background fully combine skyscraper and banner units left side bar works better than the right side bar
You're misinterpreting what I'm saying. I wrote this in an article the other day: "The easiest way to start is to build a website around a topic that you know something about. Don't look at this as the website that is going to make you rich but as a testing ground to learn all the skills you need to know to build succesful websites in different markets that will make you rich. Money comes after learning and doing. If you chase the money you'll learn and do nothing." The model of a website as a vehicle to convert traffic into money comes naturally as you build more websites in different markets. I wasn't saying that you should look at it like that to start with but that it's a perspective you reach as you learn and build more, or better still it's a perspective I've reached as I've learnt and built more and which has made building effective websites easier and easier.
well, some from someone only a few months in the adsense game: 1. Write at least one new article each day 2. Dont check your adsense earnings every ten minutes, wait until the end of the day and it looks like you've earned more, and you dont get dissapointed then. 3. Keep your loading times down. Dont make sites with too much graphics everywhere, keep it simple. It looks better and visitors are more likely to browse around your site if it loads faster.
1. Forget about adsense more often 2. Go to the pub with your friends more often 3. Call those people that you never call more often (your mum would love to hear from you!) Th easier the rest of your life is, the easier making money will seem ~Notting~
1) Come visit DP forum everyday 2) read all new thread 3) ask question here if you are in doubt(but you should search for answer before start new thread)
Great point Notting - the best one I've seen in this thread. I even wish I login to my Adsense account more often than once a week - just to know whether I'm banned or click-bombed by some idiot Take it easier. Family, friends and free time are the core of life; money aren't. The earlier you realize this, the less chance you'll become an insane sanatorium client.
-Don't check your stats every five minutes -Don't clutter up your pages with other forms of advertisments -Don't go without a clue/ plan on how to build upon your cashflow from adsense Now, that's my 2 AD-cents.. Danny
This is a great post. I don't have anything to add that has not already been mentioned, but I can reiterate Don't Build Sites for Adsense, build sites because you want to desiminate information and the money will follow. Bruce
