Hello, Consider I have a website with main domain AAA.com. Now i add one addon domain to it. Consider it to be BBB.com. Now when i add BBB.com it gets added to Public_html folder of AAA.com I want to add files to BBB.com so that the user who visits my site via BBB.com should be able to view the website. But problem is that BBB.com is in public_html folder of AAA.com and BBB.com contains just one folder in it as cgi_bin. When i tried to add files to cgi_bin folder i couldnt see my website. Please help me as to where do i upload the files so that the are accessible by BBB.com Thanking you in advance.
This is normal. As long as you never link to or publish AAA.com/bbb.com as a link they will remain seperate sites in the SE. Upload all files for bbb.com to the directory aaa.com/bbb.com. The cgi nin is created by the system. Very few people use it anymore.
if using some sort of system like cpanel it will actually create a new folder probably named /public_html/bbb.com or /public_html/bbb and you can just put your files in there, make sure your add on domain is pointed to your nameservers (in godaddy you set it as a custom name server) and it should all be fine. I am actually creating a video series to answer questions like this, so pm me if your interested in a pre-release copy. ~Blaine
