Hi I have been going round in circles for an hour and would appreciate guidance I have an outsourcer who has the job of running my Adwords for me. I want to give him access to camaigns - but I want to be the one who controls the money. I have added him with the middle level of permissions - not administrator. However, at this level he can still go and make payments which are automatically taken from my registered credit card. At this point I want to retain control of payments. What if he made mistakes, for example, added £1000 instead of £100 and then mistakely increased the daily spend from £25 to £250? Please can anyone advise how best to deal with this? Thank you. Malc
If you are worried about this kind of thing either 1) check up every few days. The change history report helps. 2) don't hire someone to manage your account. I think you're worrying for nothing. It would be hard to mistakenly increase the budget. A reputable manager will not do this without first asking you and telling why it should be increased. As for re-funding the account, if it's automatic from a credit card, what's the problem?
Thanks very much for your replies. Lucid: I will think about what you say. My worry is that someone 1. increases the budget , say from 100 to 1000 bucks a day, and I don't notice untill the CC maxes out. I have no comeback on the CC company - 'cos I gave access to the outsourcer. Take you point that don't give access to someone you don't trust - but my challenge is that I AM going to use an outsourcer in the Philippines to manage my Adwords campaign and I need to find out how to fund the Adwords account with the least risk to me I can. No need to take undue risks. Jonmarko: The permissions you have to give to set up campaigns also give the person permission to 'recharge' the accounts from the cc you have registered. Any further thought guys? Or new ideas anyone? Much appreciation. Malc
Increasing the budget does not necessarily mean you will spend the maximum budget. If you average $50 per day out of $100 taking into account search volumes of your keywords, your bid and click rate, increasing the budget to $1000 still means you'll spend $50. If you hit your daily budget every day, if you convert those clicks and make money, who cares how much you spend. You'll just make more if you spend more. While I understand the idea of sticking to a budget, you don't lose in either scenario. But do make it clear to your manager that you must approve budget changes and any other expectations.
Thanks Lucid WM I take your general point. Maybe I need to actually get going and become more familiar with Adwords to understand better. It still seems a bit risky to me... I suppose I am thinking if my outsourcer (or a future one) goes bananas, sets up extra campaigns AND increases the max spend, THAT could max out the CC. Maybe I just have to try it, but reduce my spending limit on the CC as my 'security'. Thanks for your help. Malc
