I was hired to do a job which included coding a plugin. I hired a programmer from DP and gave him two days, after the two days were up, he said he wasn't finished so I told him that I would have to find someone else to do the job as the deadline for my project was coming soon, after receiving the message he repeatedly mailed me, cursing and making threats. I made a new thread asking for a steady programmer to deliver on time, I was contacted by ********* who said he would have the plugin ready in less than 24 hours. The plugin required paypal integration, he originally charged me $150 and then claimed that paypal was hard and he'd never done it before so he asked for $200, so I said sure. After giving me the plugin what he gave me was the most useless plugin ever, it was simply a page that allowed you to enter info into fields and make the fields in to contents of a post like so, name: mike age: 24 THAT'S ALL the plugin did, it was useless as I could have done the same thing in a post, the plugin had to have a shopping button and it would count how many available seats were left, the guy told me that it was in fact counting the number of seats after purchase when it was not. After several changes of the plugin about three weeks passed and he kept saying that the plugin worked, I told him it didn't and made him log in to the site and check for himself, he went in and minutes later said "lol it was some typos" LOL what kind of programmer says that? After making me spend three weeks, he comes and just says "lol"? Anyway, during that time, my deadline had already passed seeing as how he was already done I told him to continue, my client was supposed to have a meeting with his buyer to check the site during the three weeks, since the plugin wasn't working, he had to cancel the meeting. My client now has to contact his client once again and ask him to review the site, he's very busy so he doesn't have time. I was contacted by ********** again asking for his payment. I told him that I would pay him once my escrow was released from my client due to his lateness to deliver the project, he claimed he needed the money because he was from India and had already filed for a company when he didn't have the money. He went ahead and gave me a negative iTrader, which I did the same, and found out MY CLIENT'S email, contacted him and told him that I was lying and claiming that I wasn't gonna pay him. Not only that, but he asked my client not to pay me when I told ********** that I would pay him as soon as the project was reviewed and escrow was released! With this in mind, I want to ask that DP add more info to the iTrader, to let the rest of the people know the trouble that they have to go through when working with ********.
Members are encouraged to leave factual account in deal thread and itrader. The itrader alerts potential buyer of goods and services as to previous problems. The factual account it deal thread spells out in detail what happened. As always remember only one itrader per deal is allowed.
That is totally up to Shawn but we encourage members to always look at summaries in deal thread to learn more regarding member disputes.
I guess its a good time to increase text limitation for itrade comments and may be we should give more detail about specific work from user. Shawn will definitely come up with something..
A good idea IMO for itrader would be to edit text after a certain amount of days. Say that the situation changes. The hosting provider goes down after giving the hosting provider a good itrader or the designer bails out after seeing so called good work. I think that good itraders need to be only left after quality work or after a hosting provider stays on the planet for more than a month.
Considering I used iTrader feedback to make my choice and the only negative with my choice was a short "watch out for this scammer" now knowing the limits and such - I realize it wasn't just someone wanting to leave some negative feedback :-(
