I looked to see if anyone else suggested this. I'm surprised I didn't find a similar thread ('course, now one will prob'ly show up in the similar threads list). Seems like it would have been part of the original vB design, but it's not. Fortunately adding the breadcrumb navigation near the bottom of the page (just below the main content) is a simple matter of Copy&Paste. It makes it so much easier to browse the forum pages. Thanks for considering it. Grump PS: I also notice a conspicuous absence of the forum drop-down navigation box you see on many forums. I don't care so much about that as I do the breadcrumbs though. I'll let someone else beg for that.
That's a new one on me. Pretty nice. But it still means that a member has to scroll all the way to the top of the page because there are no navigation links on the bottom of the page. Some pages can get pretty long. Thanks for the reply, Shawn. Grump
Yep... of course if it's at the bottom, them you get members complaining you have to scroll to the bottom.
Hi Shawn, I think you misunderstood. I wasn't talking about moving the navigation, I was talking about adding breadcrumb navigation to the area below the main content (like just below the Quick Reply in showthread.php). Admin CP -> Styles & Templates -> Style Manager -> « » -> Navigation / Breadcrumb Templates -> navbar Copy relevant code between <!-- breadcrumb --> and <!-- / breadcrumb --> and paste it into SHOWTHREAD and any other template you want the breadcrumb navigation at the position you would like them to appear. It's very easy. I've done it several times on other forums (although not on the new vB 3.5.x, but it's the same as the 3.0.x versions I understand). I never even had to re-edit any templates after updates. I only suggest it because it makes navigating the forums so much easier, especially if you just want to back-track a few steps after a reply. It also helps to orient you when you lose track of where you are in the forums. Anyway, it's just a suggestion. It won't keep me from enjoying your forums. It's just an added feature I thought many would like. I've been an avid forum participant on quite a few forums going back to 1992 and have always liked this feature. Thanks for listening, Grump
