Add blog as subdomain or create new website?

I have a website I am looking to drive more traffic to.

Does it make more sense from an SEO perspective to create a subdomain (blog.mywebsite.com) or does it make more sense to register a new domain using keywords I am targeting (example - greenhouseplants.com - (if "green house plants" were my keywords)) and include links in every post back to my main website?

 

If you want them to be associated together, on a subdomain (or folder) makes more sense.

 

Seo is important for getting huge traffic but it also depends upon your content.

 

I prefer to use your sub domain

 

sub domain will be a better option, but make sure to give a brief info about that subdomain on your home page of the website... Good Luck..

 

In my opinion it's better to NOT do it on a subdomain, because shorter urls are better for seo.

 

If You want traffic for your particular domain then concentrate on that domain SEO and its Content for Quality. In few days you will see traffic. Making Search Engine fool is not good option.
