I sign up for AdBrite and sign up for full page ads just to see if I can make any money, then I start getting bids for $100, $200, all the way up to $50,000 CPM. I read the about page, and it says that the bids listed are maximum bids. After accepting a bunch of these, I'm only making about $1.50 CPM from the ads. Is it possible to actually make the maximum bids or even come close, or is the bid number just complete bs? If I accept a lot of cheaper ads, will they start paying more to beat the cheaper bids? Anyone with any AdBrite experience?
I'm not familiar with AdBrite's system much, but from what you've said, AdBrite may be operating on a system where they lower the maximum bid to one cent above the next highest bid. ie. If one person bid 1.49, and another bid 50,000, you would get 1.50 if AdBrite operated on that system. Otherwise, the bids with higher CPM's may be highly targeted, so you're only getting those impressions some of the time.
This is a tough sell in my book. I've never had good results with AdBrite. Hopefully, you will have better luck.
Can you not set your minimum CPM rate for this type of ads I know with other ads on adbrite you can set a minimum CPM and display other ads if adbrite cannot fill it.
It's full page ads, and they're the only full page ad network I'm using, so I can't change minimum CPM.
