adbrite cheque recieved problem

today i recieved my adbrite cheque worth $40 but the date written on the cheque is 08/01/2009 and it says "VOID AFTER 180 DAYS FROM DATE OF ISSUANCE"

so it means cheque is not invalid?
please tell me what to do?should i cash it or not?

i have also mailed adbrite about this

 

Ask adbrite to issue you new cheque because encashing this cheque is not possible as it is not valid now.

 

Is it in american date format which is Month/Day/Year so it was issued on the 1st of August 2009. That is the most likely case

 

This means that the check was made on 08/01/2009 and you have 180 days to cash the check.

 

you can tell the people in the bank that it's august 1st 2009 ,.. still not void

 

I had face the same problem & lost appx. $180 ..

 

will adbrite will reissue the check then ask them to reissue it

 

yes i have mailed them about this issue iam waiting for their answer
