I hope this is the correct forum. I need some advice here. What would you guys do and how would you handle the situation? Yesterday I get an email from BlacklabelAds / Adbrite saying that my account was "flagged" for generating invalid clicks. At first I thought it was an email scam so I emailed them to ask about the legitimacy of the email. They replied and confirmed it was real. Since then, all the ads have stopped displaying throughout my network and now I'm wondering if I'll ever get the rest of my money owed to me (about $2k AUD). *For the record, I don't "generate" clicks as I'm being accused of. I wouldn't even know how to. I heard and read stories here of similar occurrences. My dating site has been getting a steady 500-900 unique visitors daily for the past 5 years and I get many sign ups daily. It ranks in the top 3 in google search for a particular string of key words and therefore most of my visitors come from there and a few of my other sites and members come specifically because of the type of dating service I offer. Below is a quote from the email I received. I am extremely uneasy & untrustworthy giving anybody a copy of my passport. Heck, even utility bills have sensitive info on them. Direction and some help is appreciated.
all you need to do is to visit your site. and click on the adbrite link present. most probably it will be "gathering data " you will go to http://www.adbrite.com/mb/contact_us.php fill in a form, and wait for a week. they shall reconsider your site, and you are in !
Give them your detailed analytics and distinguish between fraud or invalid traffic. Also, check any bot traffic, There are possiblites that your competitiors might also send you such invalid traffic. Also, Tell them about your competitiors. Thanks,
NOTE:I'll reply here to needlessly avoid starting another thread and to continue on from my original post. Well, after reviewing my site the first time, they activated my account. Now a week later it happened again. This time to another web site of mine. After reviewing my site they sent me this: Dare I think how many websites and people are falsely being accused by BLA and having their accounts closed down because of such invalid accusations? I think this is unfair and they have a lot to learn if they continue doing this to people. XNSmith, I agree. I believe competitors could be conspiring and sending invalid clicks. Why isn't BLA onto this activity?
FYI. they stole from me $400 from each ADbrite and BlackLabels. Total is more than $800. They think they can just sent you a TOS violation email and stole your earning. The best way is submit Small claim suite from your court. It will settle the scammer down
