AdBrite ad campaigns - What's the hold up

I opened an account with AdBrite last Friday, and created a campaign. For targeting I added about 50 keywords, left demographics and categories open, chose preferred sites, and USA geographic targeting. The ad didn't get approved until Monday (3 days). Since then, the status has been shown as "running," but there are no impressions or clicks. Is this normal? When can I expect some action?

It should have started instantly after it started saying "Running".

How many sites does it say your ad will be shown on according to your targeting settings?

    impressions/day: 33,693 of 37,117
    sites: 6 of 8
    avg. CPC: $1.47
    clicks/day: 1 of 1

Clicks/day seems terrible, but I should at least be seeing some activity, right?

It looks like there are only 8 sites that fall under your targeting and your ad will be shown on 6 of them. Usually a good campaign will say at least 200,000 impressions per day and at least 500 sites. Usually more though. It takes a while for RON ads to reach the publishers sites and when I advertised with them less than half of the sites actually showed my ad. So you probably won't be seeing any traffic unless you widen your targeting.

Also your keywords don't match sites contextually. If hardly any sites have the keywords you used in there ad zones descriptive keywords field you won't get much/any traffic.

Use very broad keywords when targeting your ads.

Thanks, that's a great deal of help - I really appreciate it. I suspected the answer was something along those lines. Let me ask you - does it make sense to get rid of the keywords altogether, and just do category targeting? Based on your experience, is that too broad, or does it provide decent ROI?

Wow. I actually never thought of trying that. Not even sure if it would work. I think that keywords would help a lot but if you do give it a try make sure you also select 1 or so channels too. Only if any apply to your niche though.

I dropped the keywords and included a couple specialty channels. That brought my estimate up to 400K impressions. Still no change in stats, but it seems there is a 4 hour delay. Thanks again bscdesign - I'll update this thread with the outcome.

Still nothing. Not 1 impression. I emailed their support people. It's coming up on a week now since I created this campaign. Has anyone else had similar problems with AdBrite ad campaigns? Am I doing something wrong?

They finally sent me an email yesterday, nearly a year after I removed their ads noticing that the ads were removed from my site. All of the ads I chose were never available so I had a big ad space with no ads and a link to see information about my website. They seemed to suck...
