Adblock added an option when you install it that says "I love Google text ads, don't block those", well that's nice but nobody is going to click it. now I need a solution to generate from those people who are not viewing my ads, more over Adblock is now also on Android making it worst for developers of apps and mobile compatible website owners. I've though that I will sell at least one space for people willing to advertise and I will manage the rotation using PHP and I am going to stay away from standard ad sizes, this way the ad will show, but the problem is that the chance of getting an advertiser to buy ads from your site directly doesn't happen everyday, or in a year sometimes. so any suggestions, do you think adblock affecting earnings, tell me your opinion. I think that the users have the right to block ads, but, it's really confusing, I don't wanna be greedy.
I'm not afraid of adblock as long as it is not included by default in browsers. Only people who are going to use it are people who are already ad blind.. A few network administrators in schools and workplace might install it by default, but most of the non technical internet population is not going to have that adblock thing.. If you have a blog about something technical and web related then yes you may have problem, but you already have problems anyway due to the nature of your audience! So no big deal really..
You can use both - Adsense ads plus affiliate text links on your site. While Adsense ads will get blocked by AdBlock Plus, affiliate (or referral) text links (like Amazon, CJ, Clickbank links) won't get blocked.
