ad_network_ads_188.txt is corrupted on my site

    This is getting stranger.

I got the _188 code updates installed. ad_network_ads_188.txt is populated with the DP webpage ads.digitalpoint.com HTML code - not the ads for rotation.

Any clue why this is happening?

Here's part of the contents of ad_network_ads_188.txt :

That is not part of my website. And 204.251.15.207 is not the right IP address. Looks like maybe your web server is making web requests through a proxy server or something that is spitting that out to you.

    Thanks.

The address belongs to my registrar / DNS provider. The page is used for parked domains. I've opened a TT with them.

    While I'm waiting. . .

I tried to use my hosts file by adding:
    216.248.176.20 ads.digitalpoint.com

    and it returned an error.

Can you think of a work around?

216.248.176.20 (or anything remotely close) is not a digitalpoint.com IP address.

It's working now with the correct IP in the hosts file.

I'm still wrestling with my registrar / DNS provider. In the meantime I'm using nameservers from a friend and the ads are displaying on my site now without an entry in /etc/hosts for dp.com AND I just revalidated.

I still do not know what caused the ads to stop working and my site to fail validation in the first place. The site was running fine the entire time

This situation has given me a first hand understanding of the origin of primitive religions.

P.S. Shawn, I apologize about PM'ing you on this. I didn't read your signature until your post yesterday in another thread. It won't happen again.
