    Hi everyone

Is it ok to change the scripts to use a different filename for ad_network_ads.txt?

Nothing really, i was just thinking if for any reason what is going on here became unpopular with google or the other SEs how hard would it be for them to search for www.yourdomain.com/ad_network_ads.txt, and wipe out all sites using it!

You can 301 that file for Google if you like within your htaccess file but I personally wouldn't worry.

Its on an asp based site so I dont have an htaccess, I was just a little concerned aswell as this one is a pr 6 site which has taken along time to build up. I notice quite a few of the COOP links link to sites which arent indexed in google. WOrries me a little about the posibility of penalities for the linking to what could be "bad neigbourhoods" sure Im just being paranoid!

You can change it if you want, or make it a 403 forbidden file for everyone. Or, you can move it out of the your public web folder and access it with ad_network.php via the full file path. Nothing ever needs to access the file via HTTP, so...

Is there any validity in that do you think?

For those of us that have sites/pages that arn't in Google, we are trying hard to get them back in. Adding heaps of links via the Co-op is one hopefully sure way of getting sites back from the "sandbox", or a sure way of getting more PR than someone who has 302'ed to our pages...

The co-op is attracting new members at an ever increasing rate, so there are bound to be links to new sites and new pages that Google has not yet had time to index properly.
