ad words punishing me?

I made my first $25 sale today! It seems that I have to keep bidding higher to keep my ad in rotation. Does adwords know I am an affliate and is punishing me with higher bids?

Do you use a landing page or you point the ads to the hop link at once?

I just link right to it. I have other ads with landing pages though. I might go back and make one for this ad if it will get my bids lower. I know google has spotted me as an affliate because my bids are way too high. Actually there not way too high, I just think they are higher than they would be if I wasnt an affliate.

You have to optimize your page, Google wants Quality, hence high QS, so you need to give it to them.

Set the maximum bid lower then. I use Yahoo ADs and if I set my max bid to 15 cents, thats the most ill pay per click. I have set the bid to 25 cents on another hoplink and im only getting a few clicks more than at 15 cents. Doesnt make sense to bid high then, not for me at least.

No. It happens often if you have a poor quality score. The landing page + ad copy + keywords all must be relevant to each other. That's all I'll tell you - I used to have the same problem but eventually got it back down and even cheaper than before.

Your quality score has a lot to do with your keyword bids. If you are using a lot of general terms that aren't directly related to the product then your quality score will be low and you will have to raise your keywords bid, this is why a lot of people use landing pages so they can alter the quality score by adding more content to thier landing pages which will bring down their keyword price. It has nothing to do with you being an affiliate , it has everything to do with the quality score.

Yes, landing pages do help bring down the keyword bid if they have content. The only problem is I like to link right to the order page to cut down on the number of pages people need to to order. I think some products work better with landing pages than others. For example some product pages already have so much advertisement its almost redudant to make a landing page for them. It probably turns people off to read your review and then go to the page and read the same thing again.
