Just noticed a new option in my campaign settings, entitled "Ad Text Ideas". You put in a few details about your business, and it recommends some advert text. I gave it a try. Google really have outdone themselves - the suggestions are spectacularly bad! For a cosmetic surgery campaign that I'm running, it's best suggestions were: Brand Name Professional Service Schedule An Appointment Now Brand Name Discover Professional Results Today Schedule An Appointment Now Professional Service Get Professional Results Today Schedule An Appointment Now No mention of the product/service. No real explanation of the benefits. I can't help feeling that I could come up with a better automated advert generator in about 10 minutes. Has anyone else tried this yet? What do you think of it?
I'm really skeptical of any automated service for writing ad copy. With all of the many rules I include in my copy writing plus Google's, I would think any automated method would be a poor attempt. I could see it as a starting point, but only that. I may try it out, but it won't happen until I have lots of free time to catch up.
