There are a ton a sites that post lists of high paying keywords - which means high competition - a lot of work to ever rank well. You would probably be better off trying to find your own niche - something you know alot about and enjoy. Most people spent a lot of time finding a sector that worked well for them and they aren't going to give out their url, or exacty keyword and invite competition from the thousands of visitors DigitalPoint gets every day.

Have you tried using the bid tool from overture?

Ad targeting is only a suggestion, and your sites content is what is going to determine the ads in the end. Targeting can't override the ads unless it is having a problem determing what your site is about. It also doesn't work very well with a lot of sites. You can't pick ads for a high paying category and have them run on your site if it has nothing to do with that sector. Yahoo runs the highest paying keywords by default, but the click through is horrible because they aren't usually related to your site.

If you just want the highest paying ads, just don't target. Targeting is to get relevant ads to your site, not the highest paying ones. Targeting can get lower paying ads to your site, but it's better to get a lower paying ad that gets clicked, rather than a high paying one that never gets clicked.

If you have that many sites, you should just experiment and see what works best for you. You also need to keep checking your sites because yahoo will start putting legal ads on a jewelry site - even if you selected jewelry - probably because they pay more. You have no option but to block ads you don't want.

As most of you know the ad targeting for YPN is in the toilet. I do not believe YPN goes off of the content, I believe the title is the main factor for the ads. But even that won't help in most cases. I have complained to YPN about my own personal issues and of course they get pushed to the side. I will tell you the same thing that my friends have said to me "MOVE ON". The best way to figure out what you can get away with is to get a junk site and change the title of the home page with different keywords to see which ads display. I guess the only good news is that they could never release the program in its current state so if you are making money I think it will stay that way for a while.

It's more than just the title. Yahoo uses stop words - meaning that there are certain words in the text that will prevent relevant ads from showing. For example, if you had a site on breast surgery and used certain words like "complications" even if you were talking about the surgery in a positive light, yahoo's method is primitive and will assume you are doing a hit piece on breast surgery and not show any relevant ads, supposedly to protect their advertisers. I have those type of pages and I have changed page title to the same exact title as other pages getting relevant ads and it doesn't work. Remove the right text, and the ads will show on using the old page title. Certain "drug" words can also have the same effect, even though your site has nothing to do with an online pharmacy. The word "hostage" is supposedly another stop word. Some words can't be used too many times, some can't be used at all. This is one area where yahoo needs a lot of improvement and Adsense doesn't have that problem.
