seems like a great idea... ppl could target stay at home moms/dads during working hours (or the slackers on the job)

in the morning, kids/teens are at school so you can lessen the number of costly clicks they make...

    just adds more flexibility...

That sounds like an excellent idea, especially if you have a low budget and can't afford to target keywords 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

if you can't afford it you should first remove your generic keywords (less relevant) and decrease your bids.

cant this already be done technically by pausing your campaigns at certains times.... basically their adding automation to that process, yes?

    exactly.

but imagine that you want to run a determined campaign during a year every night!

Or you want to run a determined campaign only on Holidays

imagine yourself remembering to pause and resume every day during a year or taking your time to run it on your holidays...

This is great for me. I sell lingerie so most of my orders come in at night (I guess most people figured out they shouldn't surf for this at work). Now I can target my ads to display only in the evenings.

So, look at your logs and see if there is any time pattern to your sales. Of course you also need to see if the user is returning and when they first viewed the site.

Nice case ramprof and thanks for your feedback!

I would suggest you also a second strategy for the near future:

As soon you have a stable campaign that you plan to do not change to much anymore, create a clone campaign (let's call it "Lingerie Day") to run during day but with the following differences:

    1) "lingerie Day" will run only during day

    2) "lingerie Day" will have small bids compared to default lingerie campaign

With this you will get also the day traffic paying what you want to pay for it.

The problem of this method is that each change in default campaign you need to do it again in "lingerie Day" campaign - but this is not a big issue.

If you are interested in this method and have a very complex Campaign to clone, contact me - I have API routines that clone a entire campaign that I can run over your account for free.

Nevermind this clone campaign thing: it also has an advanced mode where you can schedule the bid%: :D
