Ad Revenue Sharing

    Im thinking of sharing the revenue on my forum like they have here on DP.

    My website is a movie website where people can watch movies. The movies are not hosted on my site.

    Would it be worth me doing this as a way of promoting my website. For example "Earn money by posting movies!".

    Is this worth it? Whats your opinion?

    I think DP works because we are all webmasters and have adsense accounts. Do many movie posters have adsense accounts

    There are youtube type sites that pull this off though

    I wouldn't rule it out, perhaps what you could do is target a niche by getting people to upload movies and then offering a prize. There are lots of sites that offer the opportunity to upload short 5-10 min movies but not much over this, might be worth a try.

    Hmm...there are other ways to pull and traffic and make people stay. I would suggest that you organize contests instead which is more suitable towards your niche rather than using revenue sharing.

    I like the idea of that. On another forum, I didnt own it, I organised a paint the best picture in paint contest which was very popular. I need one to target my niche though.

    Also, what could I offer as a prize?

    It may work to some extent; but its not gonna make a bug difference.
