Ad Not Displaying for a Particular Keyword -- Totally Stumped

I have a particular keyword phrase that for some reason does not trigger ad impressions. I have a quality score of 7 for the keyword, a healthy bid, and the campaign in general is strong and in good shape. I also know this isn't a competition issue, as there only appears to be one competitor bidding on the keyword (or something very similar).

Looking at the status popup, AdWords tells me that the keyword is not currently displaying ads but then provides no explanation of why. There solutions on how to fix this are completely useless as my keyword is relevant and the campaign is in good standing.

What are other reasons why this keyword phrase is not impressing ads? Help please!

If your other keywords have better scores it is quite likely that they are dominating the advertising space

Thank you Burned695, but unless I'm missing something I don't think that's the issue.

Using the exact keyword phrase as a search query does not display my ad, in fact only one competitor displays an ad for this search query. My concern is not that the keyword isn't garnering impressions (though it's not) it's that I cannot get my ads to display for a particular important query all though I am bidding on that exact query as a keyword phrase.

There are no budgetary restraints in play here either.

If I've misunderstood your answer please provide a bit more detail and set me straight.

Either way, thanks again for at least trying to help!

Oh I understand, I am not an advertiser my self but is there a control panel to change your keywords? If so make sure your word is on there and try adding it again whether it's there or not

If you can't you'll have to contact google

It is likely that keyword is not generating traffic at all. If you are in a sports niche (which is a very inconsistent market) then this is very likely. Try to understand your market better before jumping to conclusions involving ad impressions.

Thanks again Burned695, re-adding the word is not a bad idea. If you're not an advertiser, why the knowledge of of AdWords?

Thank you as well michaelreyes. The keyword not generating traffic at all is actually my leading theory on why I'm not getting my ads impressed. Though it's not sports related, I do advertise a rather niche line of products. However, if this is the case why is AdWords not giving me a low search volume error for that keyword phrase?
