My groups of adds are a mess. How can I move an ad and it's key words to another group? I want to make sense of my various campaigns.

The adwords editor makes this can of task very simple. Its a free desktop application supplied by Google which will allow you to literally copy and paste adgroups and keywords anywhere you like.

Just start over with a fresh and clean gampaign...
Organize your adgroups in excel (have 10-20 keywords max in every ad group)

If the campaign's doing well, you don't want to delete the positive history that you have...

The number of keywords in an Adgroup should depend on how similar they are. I've got Adgroups in campaigns with 100+ keywords, and others with 1 keyword.

The important thing is that from a Quality Score perspective, the keywords are contained within the advert text, ideally within the title.

From a campaign management perspective, you want keywords that perform similarly grouped together, so that you can adjust bids at Adgroup level when the individual keywords don't have sufficient traffic.
