Ad Group Budget

    Hello,

Is there a way to set a budget for an Ad Group? I know you can do it for a campaign. My sector is quite crowded and therefor the keywords are are priced quite high. What I don't want to happen is for the Ad Groups with the high priced keywords to use up the whole campaign budget so the other Ad Groups don't get seen.

The only way around this is to set each group up as a campaign, my only issue in doing this is I believe I'm limited to only 35 campaigns in my account which isn't enough.

If I can not do this, would somebody explain the reasons why? I would have thought having the ability to set Ad Group Budgets would be quite popular.

    Thanks for you time.

Budgets cannot be assigned to adgroups. You may want to try to find some more niche terms to keep the costs down.

It's actually 25 campaigns max, unless they changed it while I wasn't looking. You can ask to increase that limit.

Lenn is correct. Budgets can be set only at the campaign level.

I don't see that as a big deal actually. Your budget is the maximum you want to spend each day. Figure out a maximum budget for each group and add them all up.

As Lenn and Lucid said - you can't assign them to Ad Groups, and the maximum number of campaigns is 25. However, ask your adwords support team if they'll increase it for you - it's an easy and instant thing for them to do (they've done it for me loads of times, but form what I've heard from others they might only do it if you spend a lot with them - i.e. over 20k per month)
