Ad filter not kicking in?

On one of my sites, I added a few domains from ads to be blocked. The AdSense site says it should take about 4 hours for it to take effect. It's been almost 24 and still the ads I wanted filtered are showing. Is this normal? Thanks.

Weird .... clear your cache or ban the whole domain and sub-domain by clicking right click on the ad, properties >> in the long Google link you will find the original URL, filter it .

Sometimes the URL displayed in the ad is not the same URL the visitor is taken to when they click on the ad. If you place the visible URL in your filter instead of the actual URL then the filter might not work properly. (You can typically right click on the ad to copy the link, then paste the link into a text program to view the actual URL the ad is taking the visitor to so that you don't click on your own ad.)

I know that has happened to me a couple of times so you might want to check (without clicking on the ad) where the ad is actually going.

Thanks for the tips...I'm pretty sure I was blocking the actual URL from the link itself, but I'll double-check.

Here's what I discovered...if the ad destination is www.xyz.com/asdf and you put in the filter xyz.com, it doesn't seem to work (even though they say it will). So I put in www.xyz.com and now it's fine.
