Ad Disapproved; Invalid HTTP Response Code (Adword)

    Hi there

I recently joined adword to drive some extra traffic to my website but I soon realised that its not so straight forward as it looks.

I joined adword, made my first text ad campaign & submitted it to adword for approved. Just after few minutes I received an automated reply from adword that my ad has been disapproved reason being Invalid HTTP Response Code (404 error).

I tried their support forum foe help & it was of no help at all.

Then I tried contacting adword support team directly & they didn’t offer any help as well.

    They kept on repeating

(The ads in campaign xxxx Ad Group #2 have been disapproved for Invalid HTTP Response Code. We are unable to provide information on where these error codes are showing on your site. However, if you believe you have fixed the issue then please resubmit the ads for a review)

The url to my website is www.ecasher.co.uk , its loading up correctly, there are no redirects on the landing page then why is Google so fussy about it?

Their support forum is filed with adword users pleading for help but there is no support at all (which is a real shame)

Any help or suggestion regarding the above issue will be greatly appreciated.

    Kind regards

    Martin :)

The reason this error is occurring is because when Google tries to follow through to your landing page, the server is giving a 404 Not Found error (basically the page is mis-spelt or doesn't exist).

You need to double check the ad's URL, check the keywords are going to the right place, and check that the page you're sending people to is actually there. Try clicking through from your own ad.

    Thanx for the reply Eschatonic.

That’s the first thing I checked for but every thing is in proper order. I clicked on the ad & I saw my homepage so that’s not the issue here :(

What is I have no clue: confused:

How are your other adgroups doing? If your other adgroups send people to different landing pages, it might point to a specific issue with that page. If they don't, then it may be a more elusive error.

And how are your keywords? Are some of them disapproved, or is it just the ads?

Eschatonic I have two ads created under the same ad group both point towards the same landing page

    http://www.ecasher.co.uk

& both of them are disapproved.

None of the keywords under the ads are disapproved it’s just the ads.

Well, I've checked the website in Chrome and using the Googlebot User Agent string, and it looks fine to me.

I honestly have no idea. Your best bet is to submit the ads for review.

Eschatonic I have got one of my ad going by contacting the adword staff but they are refusing to approve any other ad for my website unless the error is corrected (which is not their)

A single ad campaign for many keywords comes with its own disadvantages like high CPC for a keyword, low quality score, less conversion etc.

So I might just demand a refund from them instead of wasting my money.
