Ad Denied

    Hello,

I just signed up for co-op today. Thank you for the great opportunity.

I added 2 ads on my account and both of them got denied for the following reason:

Ad Denied: do not point ads directly to affiliate links

    The concerned link is http://www.gobigwest.com/try-us/index.asp?source=co_op

The ?source=co_op is just a tracking quiery used by my tracking tool for my marketing campaigns. In this case, the campaign is co-op. There is no affiliate involed here.

    Please help.

    Francois

Seems like they should approve your ads.

There is nothing wrong pointing to affiliate links even if it was an affiliate link.

Good. :) but you might want to tell your ad reviewers this. I've gotten this rejection notice as well recently. :( As well as "Do not point ads to pages with strictly affiliate links"

    Hi

I have just clicked through on the link:
If some of the purposes of the co-op include link popularity and Google PR, why are you confusing the search engines with duplicate content for your page?

Why don't you receive the source=co_op and then 301 redirect to your normal page. Then you don't get duplicate content, you don't stand to get Google listing the query string in its results for your search term, you make sure that all the PR actually goes to a real page that you want to get ranked (otherwise you only get PR less one to the real pages).

When I first started out with affiliate links (not that yours is, but same method), such links were often listed for my search terms (url's of my site, but with the query string of my affililate), and my affiliates got the $ for what should have been my search term.

I am seeing more and more legit ads getting denied. I know these ads are fine because when I resubmit the exact same ad 4 hours later it always gets approved. Yesturday I had another that got denied for a reason I don't even understand.

    getcreditconsolidation.com
    Debt Consolidation Help
    Debt consolidation information and companies.

    Ad Denied
    only shows directory listing

    What does that mean?

It means that at the time it was reviewed, the site was not working... it was only showing a directory of files.

some reasons are way lame ...

    Anchor - Real Estate Resources
Desc - Books and resources regarding real estate.

    DENIED - Description too short.

I would have to agree with others that perhaps the editors need to loosen up a bit with the ads. I have had several ads denied for various reasons only to have the exact same ad approved later.

I'm having issues with the capitalization requirements. I'm pretty sure the editors probably see a list of regex checked/assisted red-flags or something. I'd like to add food for thought.

    For example:
35mm deluxe lens filters ...... blah blah blah.

has absolutely no capitalization, but I believe that is irrelevent because English doesn't have capital numbers last I checked :)

So a number at the anchored to the beginning of a description should be OK IMHO.

    Regards,
    Jaimie

I've had the same experience. Looking at the IP info of the reviewer I can often tell if my ad will be approved or not before I ever log into my account to check.
