I submitted a ringtones site and it was rejected due to "theme". I didnt think the site broke any of the ad guidelines. What am I missing ?

You are going to have to post the site if you are looking for forum members to give you feedback.

For all we know you had questionable content on it.

It's a co-op. It's meant to be transparent. If there's a need to hide the URL it shouldn't be submitted as an ad.

    Tops is right-

You want to post an ad on all of our sites, but don't want to let us see it now...?

How good can that be - maybe its best if you don't get it approved. No offence.

I have nothing to hide with the URL just didnt want to post it to public forum.

From what I have seen in this forum very few people post their URL's so assumed there was a good reason for this.

Your url will be on thousands of our sites if they enter the co-op so this particular url should be fine to post in the first place. If you don't want it live for whatever reason you can always obscure it so SE's can't access it.

some links are not posted in the forum immediately because they are for sale, under development, or a percieved conflict of interest - but I can't fathom a reason for not posting a link here that will be on hundreds of our sites tomorrow if it gets approved.

    Sorry - I digress - this really isn't the point huh ;)

    - PM the link to TOPs, yfs1 or another ofthe veteran users - they should be able to give you an idea of whether the site should be approved or not.

Why should he PM the url? I agree with Tops, if he can't post it here, maybe he shouldn't even be using the coop

    Agreed

I was just trying to back off of being that way. Trying to assume the best since my first reaction is to assume the worst ;)

Theme might mean you selected the wrong theme for your site on setting up your site link

i.e you selected computers and your site was about travel

OK thanks guys for all your comments. I understand that my ads will be shown across the whole co-op I just thought that it wasnt the done thing to post actual URLs on the forum. I guess the only way Im going to get help is to post here so here goes.

I see - (Nice looking site by the way)

I think the problem is the link to adult related content on the site.

I think thats addressed in the Co-op TOS

I'm pretty sure thats why you got turned down - But I could be wrong.

Hmm... but the site isn't really an adult related site. This one has me scratching my head.

Tough one....it is not an adult related site, but there is an adult content section, so it's kinda borderline.

were you attempting to point the ad to the adult content section or just the main page?

Ad was pointing to main page.

Even though the site has an "adult" category, there isnt any actually "adult" content on there.

What's the procedure for getting a definitive answer to whether this site is acceptable or not ?

Well it was already deemed unacceptable by the reviewer. You could try again however and see what they say.

Just a note: the home page says "complied" when it should say "compiled".

There may not be adult content on the site itself but there are links to porn sites and porn site advertising banners on the site. If I were a reviewer, I'd have to say I'd reject it as a Coop ad it for that reason.
