Ad denied because of DMOZ clone

    Hallo everybody,

I've tried to create a new ad but it has been denied because of:

    "Ad Denied
    no original content, dmoz clone"

After that I've searched the forum and found the following thread:
    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=9961&highlight=dmoz+clone

From reading it I got the impression that it was ok to have a dmoz mirror? So why has my ad been denied? I'd wish there were some clear rules that everybody would stick, too.

Besides, it is somewhat strange as I already have several other ads for the dmoz clone which have been approved? I even have a description that says, that it is an 'ODP clone' and it still has been approved.

Are there different people checking the ads for different languages? I get the impression according to the language of the ad, it's easier or harder to get it approved.

    Thanks for your help!

I think it's OK to display ads on a DMOZ clone...

Probably to get more pages indexed and get more weight which can be pointed elsewhere.

Yes, I'm talking about ads pointing to the dmoz clone.

Why would you want to forbid it?

why would members of the coop want to link to a dmoz clone?

or why would you want links going to a dmoz clone?

I personally wouldn't want to link to it if I had a choice but the original post is correct. These ads have long been accepted in the past and there is no rule against DMOZ clone sites.

I suspect Shawn will have no problem with this and you will be asked to re-submit it because it doesn't actually break any rules.

Can we use dmoz if it's to start off our search engine?
I want to use some regional links to start off my directory.
    probably less than 10,000 links
