E doc: Do you have any directories within your site? If so I believe you are allowed to do this.

It wouldn't seem right / fair that you could cash in on both vautage and weight...that's my thought around that.

Something that I have noticed in the last 3 weeks. My Alexa ranking continues on a downward spiral despite Google's suspected devaluing of COOP links.

When I check my server stats Yahoo and Google are almost dead even for referrers. I have NEVER seen this before. Google is ALWAYS 80% of my overall SE traffic.

When I go the Yahoo I am #1 across the board for all keywords and keyphrases that I promote...it's almost criminal :D. Yahoo shows that I have 256,000 bl's. 80% of that has to be this COOP. MSN is very similar except I float from pos 1-5 each day under same keyphrases and the back link count is 10% of what Yahoo reports but 10 times what Google reports. Yahoo remains stable #1 all the time.

THAT'S WHY MOST OF MY WEIGHT REMAINS HERE, strength in numbers.

Homer, Shawn says "You can't run ad network and link vault on the same site".

Now, if you have www.yoursite.com and also forum.yoursite.com as a subdomain, the question would be whether the forum is considered a separate site or not.

    Should be...

A folder would be considered the same site, a subdomain is a totally different site.

Unless Shawn has another point of view

I would give you the same advice for any affiliate program (including AdSense): Consult the owner of the program for approval regarding your specific situation/plans rather than making assumptions and risking getting booted.

    Shawn could you clarify this?

Seems like coop is advertising and link-vault is permanent links?

They don’t seem to conflict. Link vault is no different than automating the acquisition of back-links.

Why would this be a violation of the coop TOS?

BTW: My network is “coop only.”

I am really not clear on this, still. I am trying to find the thread where I swore Shawn said we could run the code in directories within a site but not on the same page...could be wrong. If I am thanks, Mistrel. :)

I may be wrong, too. That's really my point: As with AdSense, it doesn't really matter what I or anyone else thinks is okay -- it's what the affiliate/coop program owner thinks.

Agree, the creator makes the law. Coop members question/ challenge the law...the creator always wins :D

Right, I should have said per page (folder for example), not necessarily per site.

Hmmm, let's see what would be a worthy contribution to this thread? The new eight system? No then we'll get tossed over to the piddley weight forum.

'Ad Churning and Irrelevant Site Wake Up Call'

We've pretty well pumuled that. But I am also interested to know from any other hardcore COOP's. What has been noticed in the last, say, month. Are your stats telling you yay or nay? For example My Google stats are down significantly from last month but Yahoo has been on a steady incline for months now...

I think my CoOp links are beginning to be devalued or excluded. My allinanchor has been on a steady decline as well as my position on page one. This is happenning even though my daily link exchange acquisition goes on. From my research I see no signs that my competitors are working any harder than I am in this regard. I don't think it has anything to do with irrelivant sites linking to me but rather a constant "here today, gone tomorrow" problem.

For the first time I am starting to question the effectiveness of the network. It's not about the referrals for me and never has been (they are non existant). It's all been about the SERPs... and they are on the decline despite my best efforts.

Agree with you 100% if your comments are focussed on Google alone, absolutely true from my perspective. What about Yahoo? I used to have the mindset that none of the others really mattered. I am seeing evidence that, perhaps I have been a little blind towards other SE's. Yahoo is quickly become my #1 SE referrer

My Yahoo and MSN referers have been good and continue to grow. They have always been good to me and my SERPs continue to get better with both. Looks like the 2 of us are seeing very similar results across the board.

Same things keep popping up, with what seems like evidence of current problems, and a certainty of future problems.

Shawn, if a perfect solution were available, would you consider it?

Shawn, since you don't want to change the Ad Network, would you consider adding a co-op "Link" Network and keep the Ad Nework as is and have people choose which one (or both) they want to join?

I'm seeing the same things: Google is finally starting to really penalize us, Yahoo and MSN don't care, and I'm contemplating the benefits of LinkVault.
