Hello, Recently, I have noticed a number of sites blending AdSense ads into the menus of their sites to make them almost indistinguishable from the site menus (same colours, and the menus are constructed in units similar to Google's pre-determined ad sizes.) The relevant section here: https://www.google.com/adsense/supp...&sourceid=aso&subid=ww-ww-et-asui&medium=link seems to be, "Elements ... and the ad colors must be such that any ad elements, including text and URL, are visible." Does this mean the ads should be clearly distinguishable from the remainder of the links on the site? Or that they simply need to be literally visible? Feedback appreciated. Thanks!
I think they just need to be visible. For instance, you can't have white url against a white background. This rule is subject to some interpretation, but I believe it's made to prevent publishers from trying to trick visitors into confusing ads with site content. A good rule of thumb is to place Google ads in good faith. It's best to get clarification directly from Google for parts of TOS that you're not clear on. Good luck!
Yeah weblaunch is right, you can't have similar color for a link and for a background. Links, text, and title should be clearly visible. But you can match the background color of your ads with your site's background.
I would assume they are just referring to the links and not the background. Since Google owns Blogger, and Blogger lets you "blend your Google ads" I couldn't imagine they have a problem with it. Why would anyone hide the urls? How would anyone click them if they can't see them?
