Froogle is great! I would be hard pressed to find a better FREE referrer.

It's also fun to try different things to improve your rankings. The impact is felt immediately.

    Hi
you can load dynamic refs for graphics to F as long as it resolves to a pic in the end.
Check the net for "php watermark on the fly" couple of nifty litle scripts about that do just that.

As long as F can find the final pic it will display it.

I did a bit of a double take on the name :) So I had to see if the site matched the name.. It did.

Ok, back to the topic. We saw about a 20% increase in online sales, and say 30-50% increase in traffic overall with our Froogle feed. We've got our stores automated such that they spew out our products every 24 hours so the db is alway up to date.

    Alrighty then..

My prediction is "never." That isn't the point to froogle.
Can you guess what the real point is?

OK, no guessers, so I will give my read on what
    the point to Froogle is.

The point is that WE are working our tails off to give
tons of high quality content to Froogle with no cost
to them and they use this content to get eyeballs
so they can put up google ads.

So we get a tremendous benefit, and so do they.

Froogle is a free service so that merchants can get more exposure for their products.

It helps customers easily find and compare product prices.

Google earns from it through their Adsense ads on the side of the pages.

I have a few products that I guess I am the low cost leader of. So Froogle has drawn some sales to me ( I am more than happy to take them), but I can't make a living off those sales.

Yes, if you can be the lowest priced on a popular item, you'll get tons of sales. Even if the price difference is just a small one.

I went from selling a $200 item about ten each month to two each day. All from Froogle! :D
