    We know that ActiveX Components can access only Windows Operating System.
    I want to develop a web application which should behave the way similarly when we embed an

    Active X Control in a web page.Here we can call its specific functions, events etc...

    But to make it work in Linux, i read some where that Java Applet can replace it.
    But can Applet access the OS?.
    Will that be able to capture events raised by some external devices connected to the machine?

    Please gave 2 cents on this.

    i dont think it is possiable.and actually activeX is source for hackers and bugs.i hope u will make good 1 soon.
