    Hello guys,

Just signed up with ePassporte and i thought it's free to join but now it requires deposit of 25$ to activate the account

will this 25$ be credited to my account or it's an activation fee ?

e-mailed them 3 days ago and no reply yet so i thought to ask here those who have ePassporte already

ePassporte has never been free. In the past, it was $5/year (first year free) for a virtual debit card account and $35/year more if you want the Debit Card.

The $25 load will be credited to your account minus fees. You will be able to use the money. Of course, if you got the card from a gift account or a 3rd party who would use epassporte to pay you, you will need to do your own load.

    This should explain it better

Well, I got to know about ePassporte because Digital River started using them to pay us, Shareware Publishers. It seems a great way to get away from the $40 they charge for wire transfer as it only charges $2 for each ATM withdrawal.

Althought I am not from the US, the bulk of my business expenditures are based in the US dollar so using the ePassporte Virtual Visa to pay was indeed a great way of saving on the foreign exchange fees if I were using my local credit card.

I've used ePassporte for about 2 years now and they have been quite reliable. However, the ePassporte service has not been successful in getting merchants to sign up to collect funds through it. It is used primarily for the sake of sending money.

No, people with credit cards cannot pay you through ePassporte unless they do a ePassporte to ePassporte account Send Money function. You can however use your ePassporte Card to pay others who accepts Visa Electron cards online or offline.
