Activating CPM ads on some sites and not on others via Adsense.

    Hi,

I have had CPM ads in Adsense disabled for around 1 - 2 years now and want them back on certain sites. Is there a way where I can just have CPM on some sites and not on others. Has anybody done this and how do you go about doing it?

i already answered this question in another thread. Once more for you.

CPM ads are site targetted. First check if you are getting any site targetted ads. People misunderstand video or image ads for CPM ads, they are however not CPM ads.

If you are sure u r getting CPM ads, you can check the channel reports to make sure.

You can go to that channel-edit channel-remove "target ads" options. save.

If u want to be 100% sure, then just use a new channel. CPM ads won't server coz they are always associated with a channel.

    Reps appreciated

I think I better rephrase what I have said. I have been with Google adsense for over 3 years, I know how their CPM ads work. I also know that you can't just have CPM ads, that was not what I was asking, I just phrased it wrongly I guess. I know that CPM ads are mixed with CPC ads. The amount of CPM ads shown on your site depends on how many advertisers want to directly advertise on your site using site targetting.

This is what I wanted to know.
I stopped getting CPM ads about 1 - 2 years ago as I didn't want them anymore as the large ads didn't look right on my site and made my site look tacky. I disabled them by emailed Google and they done it for me. I now want them back on my site, but was wondering if Google has options where they can making it so they make it so the CPM & CPC ads go on certain sites or would I have to have cpm and cpc on all my sites and not just selected ones.

I was wondering if anyone had done this or asked Google about it.

Personally I don't think they would have this option, but I thought that I would ask just incase.

john, i guess your answer is right there in my first reply.

Hint- Edit your channel and select "Targetted"

    godmode,

I dont know if you know this or not or where this fits into the picture.

But even if no channels/urls are marked as "targetable" an AdWords publisher can still put CPM ads onto a website (unless requested by email to adsense).
