    Hello everybody

I am really confused right now. I have to buy a 19inch TFT monitor. I have shortlisted 2 options, Samsung and Acer.

I have already used Samsung and i am very much satisfied by its performance, but ACER makes me think again with its price range.

What do you guys suggest ???

    Thanx is anticipation.

Even i have made up my mind on samsung 80%. Can anybody suggest any particular model from samsung.

I have chose this model right now Samung 940BF this one has a response time of 2ms. But i dont play games or stuff. This is expensive from other models in 19 inch. Is it worth spending?

Where does this response time counts, please throw some light on this.

And i live in Chandigarh, India. Samsungs service is very much satisfactory here as well.

It is my first Acer product, but I am very satisfied with their new 24 inch widescreen LCD. Cheaper than the Apple, more than the Dell, it uses the newest Samsung panel and has the fastest response time of them all. The sharpness corner to corner is excellent as well as the color and brightness. It is almost too bright.

I had an acer monitor on my second computer. I had an acer on my computer I bought in 93, it lasted only a couple of years. I still have the monitor that I replaced it with.

The samsung monitor i chose has a response time 2ms, i think that's the fastest available. Right now my TFT has a response time of 8ms.

Can you please explain me something about response time? Where does it counts? I am not a gamer.

I think i would go with samsung, as their service is good here.

Thanx for the response, so basically that means i wont be needing anything more than 8ms. That could save me around $70 or so (between 2ms and 8ms).

Is it worth saving or should i spend those extra $70 (or 60)?

If you are not into Multimedia or Gaming, Response time hardly affects you..
for development purpose RT of 10ms is more than enough.
it all depend upon your application.

Thanx for the response. I got a good deal on Samsung 440BF which has a response time of 2ms, the difference was only down to $20, so i opted for this model.

Actually i purchased this (Samsung 940 BF) from Hong Kong, in India it was something like $670 (Rs.30000), i got it for something close to $310.

BTW, Amit you are also invited to the party, if you happen to come to North.

AND an FYI to everybody else, ITS NOT A POOL PARTY. :D
