Accurate Shipping Rates

I recently sold a DVD player on Amazon. When I listed it, Amazon told me that my item qualified for a $12 shipping credit.

EBay allows Sellers to print out shipping labels, and their shipping rate estimator is very inline with the actual rates.

After my item sold on Amazon, I used the cheapest shipping method I was able to find, USPS Parcel Post; however, the charges for this still came to $26.

I wrote to Amazon about this, but of course they said there was nothing they could do.

Does anyone know how to get Amazon to come inline with accurate shipping rates?
