Accurate Backlink tool

has anyone found an accurate backlink checking tool ?

I have a 6 month old site, trying to raise the PR & checking the backlinks and I get inconsistent results.

1 site I use, says I have 268 links to home page ( not internal) , 271 links to domain (not internal) including 4 .edu backlinks.

using rusty brick and other PR checkers, it says I have less than 100 links, unable to determine PR, which is impossible. I know I have at least 300+

I also used link: domain.com on Yahoo.. it says 217 links..but there are only 3 result pages showing 30 sites. numbers are supposed to be absolute.

what have you found to most accurate tool ?
at first, I thought yahoo link search was it.

If you happen to have $167.00 lying around, SEO Elite has every feature you could possibly need to help you promote and analyze your site, including a phenomenal backlink checker.

I know there's a lot of crap software out there, but in my experience, SEO Elite truly lives up to its own hype. I use it myself.

You can find it here (this is NOT an affiliate link--I really do use and like this program):

    http://www.seoelite.com

I also use Google's Webmaster Tools and Yahoo's Site Explorer, although these take some setup and time for data to start coming in.

    Hope you find this useful,
    Paul

I've tried the rankalert. It take some times to load especially if you are using firefox. Found nearly 300 links for my site but only few got pagerank 2-3. My site still does not have any pagerank yet since its new. Does this mean I can expect my pagerank to be around not more than PR1-PR2 on the next Google pagerank session?
