I your account is terminated and restored on a hosting plan, would that be like putting a new site on the web again? A coder messed up my site and I had to do a full restore. They told me they had to cancel my account and then restore it from my backup. A day later some of my files show up on the web and others give me a 404.

I did and thats the backup they used. They had to first terminate my original account first. Can that effect the pages seen on the net right away? DNS thing?

Shouldn't do, as long as the DNS wasn't changed before/after the account was terminated then recreated NOTHING should go wrong, all should work fine.

    It's likely a corrupt backup

Hmmm, is it possible for you to try the site on another server? Just in case it's the server that's playing up?

Richard this is what they finally told me:
It looks like after the restore the IP address of the website changed. We've synchronized the dns and website IP addresses and it should work properly shortly. Please allow up to 12-24 hours for all of the dns changes to take effect.

By the way the site with the problems is my morgellons site in my signature. Try clicking on the message board and tell me please what you get thanks!
