If I am not mistaken I have seen Marketings image on more than one nic here. As for Yahoo and not being accepted find a content rich site and submit that. I have helped several people apply this way and 100% accepted each time.
For those of you who might have missed it, YPN states on their blog: "Placing images next to ad units can be construed at an “inducement to click,†and goes against Yahoo! Publisher Network’s Terms and Conditions." on http://ypnblog.com/blog/2006/05/10/location-location-location
Someone has stolen my avatar/pic and using it on here? Are you serious? If so does that constitute that I have a stalker or should I be flattered? When you mean content rich sites, how well in your experience do rss feed sites do? They obviously update more than regularly but all content is linked to outside sources. Does Yahoo care about that in regards to their YPN network and content?
Thanks for the advice. I have thought about the po box route in the past but didn't want to go through the motions if there was a good chance I still might be rejected. I think I will give it a go, if its only 40 or so bucks a year, its no big deal...its more a pain just to go get it. Anyway...hopefully it will work out. Sucks that they have ultimate power and can just cut you off without much warning or prior issues. I think I will have to review their TOS again with a fine tooth comb and limit the number of places the ads are displayed to sites that are sure things to comply. Thanks again for the advice...worth a rep for sure.
In the spirit of not wanting to be duplicated, I have changed my avatar. There is only one marketing,
Well let me ask you this question...is an RSS Feed the same as original unique content?? Does repositioning content on a webpage make it unique? No & No ...so this tells us RSS is just like links...good for somethings but overall its best to do things in the prefered manner. Now what I feel RSS feeds are very good for is making page content fresh..if you can find multiple RSS feeds on a subject then directing a different feed to your main pages could help. I like to look at things like links and RSS as a compliment to the main meal....it's like having a nice juicy t bone steak.....you don't want to drown it in A one sauce......but a little bit can give it that extra zing that makes the meal a masterpiece A little goes a long way....
Hey been watching the YPN threads for a while-time to jump in. I was terminated a couple of months ago, for standard TOS violations. After validation, which took two months, my balance due is around 98%- of the original amount. So if 2% of my traffic was no good, what was the termination about?? I think they are just messed up completely.
The letter we receive is a standard form letter. More than likely it was due to clicks from people overseas.....somehow Yahoo feels the publishers should be held responsible for Yahoos inability to geo-target their ad serving. The sheer stupidity of such amazes me. Go figure.
