Account Deletion Questions

    Hey guys/girls,

    Please don't simply disregard my post, I have been a member here for YEARS and I think that should merit a moment of your time.

    Could someone (who actually knows) please let us know what technically happened to so many user accounts?

    All of my posts still exist here on the forums although my account was deleted? Lost?

    I really don't understand how this could have happened.

    Seeing as I have been here for some time my data is obviously in any database backup as my posts are still here, its just my username is no longer linked to them.

    I have always thought highly of DP but with this whole issue I am told "Your account got deleted, nothing we can do."

    Each post I see about someone trying to ask for help in this matter is instantly closed and a "sorry about your luck" type response is given.

    With such a popular forum one would think there would be a little more caring about the members that visit these forums everyday and fill its pages with content.

    Some form of explanation would be most helpful to myself and other unfortunate members.

    I am really looking for a good reason to not give up on DP all together after this. Its very disappointing to now be grouped as a "newbie" after contributing to this forum for years.

    Note: Yes I did send a note to administration and have yet to see a reply.

    hi missdani, i actually am one of the users who's account got lost, 1.3k posts and 80+ itraders vanished in an instant, although i'm moving on, and i dont expect any apologies whatsoever, i also want to know the technical sides. I am programmer/web developer myself so i'm sure i can grasp any sort of technical jargon.

    The reason we haven't given technical information is because we don't have that information. Only Shawn could have an idea as he's the one that looked into it. Whether or not he chooses to comment on it at some point is entirely out of our hands. All we know is that after reviewing the situation, we were told the accounts are irrecoverable, and that's the information that's been passed along. We do understand the frustration, but there's nothing else that can be done about it.
