According to Muslim leader, all women should wear a veil

I am deeply offended by cartoons, articles and postings at Al-Wifaq, Arab News, Alhayat Aljadeeda, Ad-Dustur, and Al-Watan newspapers and web sites. I don't hear an outrage and concern for my troubled heart.

I think the topic of the thread is veil for every woman. I fail to grasp how Jews, Dutch, Danish and such got any relevance, other than they would all have to be veiled.

Be careful throwing rocks in a glass house.

It would be awesome if one of these threads actually stayed on topic, and not throw everything into the thread just to avoid answering and discussing the primary issue.

I'm not sure why you quoted me, you are offended by some cartoons of some Arabic media but how often do you see those around here, posted and cheered, comparing to vica versa?

And these topics surely will change directions since the oppostion is towards the topic itself.

 

I will try to elucidate.

I am offended by those cartoons and articles, and such which depict Christians, Jews, Buddhist, Hindus, and <putyourfaithhere> in a derogatory manner. I believe many people are offended. Such "posts" are cheered "around there".

Yet, you do not hear us complaining (much).

My point exactly. Concentrate on the specific subject, not on the peripheral topics. You will bring much needed clarity to your argument.

My opinion that this is going to be troublesome. What would happen if the burka slips on their eyes, or the karakul tickles them and start flailing?

 

They should just wrap their own women up like parcels

no you don't...you only know about what is going on around the muslim world which don't mean you know about it unless you studied religion all your life not hearing and reading what the media only says

The veil is NOT compulsory for women in Islam.
But some Islamic scholars deem it necessary because women often feel more secure that way.
The compulsion in Islam is to wear a head-scarf.

 

This is just about all I need to know. That's really all the 'peace' I can handle

 

ofcourse thats what you know...that just whats happening in the world...which means you don't know the religion...only what the bad things the extremists/terrorists are doing (like in iran) they do play with their minds...by telling them crap and they listen and I guess they can't speak otherwise(extremists)

 

so I guess "knowing" the religion would mean that we would all have to become muslims and learn arabic....how convenient for a religion that chops off peoples heads and is degrading to women...

but how can I learn about islam and the "true language of God" (which is actually Hebrew btw), without learning Arabic?
