i accendently clicked a ad in my page while checking the layout but i stopped the ad page from loading and returned back to my site should i report to adsense team about this.
I think it is better to inform them now than explaining later what happened if they ban your account.
It is always best to inform them as soon as you have done it by accident so that they are aware of it. They would become aware of it at a later time, but informing them shows you are trying to co-operate with them and run the account legitmately.
I did it once (that's the problem when you write a blog about something that really likes you ). the first thing that came to my mind is "account lost, i won't even bother to try to explain". But luckily, thei didn't remove my account, just sent me the e-mail about "we detected fake clicks..." or something like that. So i guess thy expect it to happen once in a while (i don't know others, but i kinda got a phobia to scroll the mouse near any adsense ad ), besides, i guess that requires just a little of common sense to realize wiho is clicking intentionally and who doesn't....
I think Google knows people will make mistakes once in a whil by accidently clicking on their own ads. Just send them a polite email and they will let it be.
No matter you're accidently click or not, 1 times or 2 times... Google will also banned your account unless your explaination is sound enough for them.
Well Sysop, Can you explain this a bit further? I don't like people sayin this crap that is not thrue. vic_msn They will not ban your account just because you clicked your own ads once every year. But to be on your safe side, Its good to send the email to adsense team and explain. And listen to this. When I click my own ads they dosnt count. Im pretty sure that adsense team are having a system for accident clicks. I belive they might record your IP when logging in to adsense then if you make just one click in like 2 months they delete it. BUT if you make 10 clicks each day or something like that They will BAN you. Thank you!
It is amazing how many "I accidentally clicked. . . " threads there are. I am beginning to wonder if something else is going on. Has Google found a way to "magnetically" attract cursors to its ad blocks and through some subconscious flash technique it is able to cause the brain to generate a click signal to the finger. Google does not reveal the actual contents of the AdSense block javascript and they are hiring some of the brightest programming minds in the world. At the same time, has anyone noticed a decrease in the number of "AdSense blindness" threads. That alone suggests Google may have some new ad technology at work! Or, is it just that people are getting so good at seamlessly blending AdSense into content -- not even the site designer can tell the difference.
I've accidentally clicked before - if I tab out of my browser with my site open, sometimes I click the wrong place to give the browser focus again - its easy to do. They shouldn't mind once or twice - just don't make it a habit
