I wanted to put all the fonts that I had on my desktop onto my laptop. The fastest way I thought to do this was to just delete the existing "Fonts" folder, then copy the entire "Fonts" folder from my desktop onto my laptop. I did this, but now windows is not recognizing this as THE "Fonts" folder, even though it is located at C:/Windows/Fonts. Windows is just seeing this as just any old folder instead of the actual Fonts folder. Now on my laptop, Windows does not recognize that any fonts are installed and the display on everything is screwed up. Does anyone know how I can get Windows to recognize this new folder as the actual Windows Fonts folder? Thanks for any help
Oh, you have blown it So the Fonts folder is one of those vital folders that Windows must have to operate properly, and the system registers the folder location so that all programs have the ability to access it. When you deleted it you destroyed those links. Just copying in the folder doesn't restore the linkage. You will need to re-install Windows to rebuild that link. Then you need to install the new fonts properly.
