Accidental conversions

So me and a good friend of mine are jumping into the affiliate marketing world.
We are currently working on a landing page for a offer we feel will convert like crazy!

Anyways the reason I am writing this is, while showing off to my pal how exactly we would be paid, ( I was clicking on my referral link and showing off what the user would have to do for us to get paid ) I generated a few conversions.

The conversion happened on a first page e-mail submit...

Should I consider this a big deal? I spoke with my affiliate manager about it and they pretty much just laughed it off and carried on.

    input?

I don't understand how this is ok.

What is stopping other affiliates from just spamming their links, generating huge conversions with no cost.

Has anyone ever seen or heard about this?

They'll typically review the submit offers sometime throughout the month and scrub any bogus leads. If your manager says it's ok you're probably fine. I'd make sure not to do it often or it'll get removed or issues with your account
