Access Webmail after domain transfer?

I realise this situation shouldn't occur, but...

Is it possible to access a Webmail account after the domain has been transferred out? Even for a short period of time?

It depends on how the host sets up, but you can try something likes this http://ip-of-domain/webmail

 

Yes, that's a good idea. Is there a way of finding out what the IP address was prior to the transfer?
