Access to DP account for old email (no longer have access)

    Hi all,

I had an old account with DP, but have not posted for a long time. As a result, I do not remember the password.

2nd issue is that I do not have access to the old company email that I used to create the account, therefore I cannot reset my password.

Mods/admins: How can I get access to my old account, or validate my ownership, etc?

Any guidance you can provide me with will be greatly appreciated. Ideally, I would merge the old account into this new one.

You would need to offer some sort of proof the account was yours (that burden of proof would be on you... no idea how you can do that).

Otherwise anyone can come along and say they don't have their email to reset the password, don't remember the password, etc. and take over other people's accounts.

Thanks for the feedback Shawn. I understand the security issue it presents.

If I cannot think of any way to provide proof of ownership, am I clear to use this new account? I know that it technically violates the DP user agreement when I registered and indicated that I did not have a past account.

Well I know the user's jward's Twitter is joewardpr, so post something there (you can delete it afterwards), and that should confirm it.

Ok... gonna merge this account into jward, and reset your email address to your new one so you can request a password reset.
